Thirty-two years ago, Prof. Dr. med. Peter Lamesch first treated Mrs. Gerlinde Keil. Together with his colleagues, the physician diagnosed the then 33-year-old mother of two children with a rare hereditary condition: multiple endocrine neoplasia. The disease is characterized by malignant tumors of the thyroid gland as well as benign disorders of the adrenal and parathyroid glands.
