Helios Bad Saarow receives the quality seal “Excellent. FOR CHILDREN 2026–2027”

Minister Andreas Philippi, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Social Affairs, Labour, Health and Equality and Chair of the 2026 Conference of Health Ministers, awards the Children’s Clinic of Helios Hospital Bad Saarow the quality seal “Excellent. FOR CHILDREN 2026–2027.”

On 24 February 2026, Dr. med. Beate Schwarz, Chief Physician of the Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Helios Hospital Bad Saarow, will receive the quality seal “Excellent. FOR CHILDREN” from Minister Andreas Philippi, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Social Affairs, Labour, Health and Equality and Chair of the 2026 Conference of Health Ministers, in Hanover. This quality seal is awarded to clinics for pediatrics and adolescent medicine as well as pediatric surgery that have voluntarily undergone a review of their structural quality and meet the high required standards.

No other medical specialty covers such a broad spectrum as pediatrics and adolescent medicine together with pediatric surgery: from premature infants to adolescents, from specialized congenital malformation surgery to the treatment of children with cancer. Optimal treatment of these young patients forms the foundation for their long-term health as adults. Therefore, the highest standards apply to the medical care of children and adolescents.

“Excellent. FOR CHILDREN” – is truly excellent for children!

It is the concern of everyone working in pediatric and adolescent medicine to ensure that the quality of inpatient treatment for children and adolescents in Germany is maintained and, if possible, further improved. For this reason, the Society of Children’s Hospitals and Pediatric Departments in Germany (GKinD), the Federal Association “Child and Hospital” (BaKuK), and the German Academy of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (DAKJ), together with the German Society for Pediatric Surgery (DGKCH), developed the quality seal “Excellent. FOR CHILDREN” in 2009.

The quality assurance measures for inpatient care of children and adolescents define minimum requirements that children’s hospitals and departments of pediatrics/adolescent medicine or pediatric surgery must meet in order to receive the quality seal “Excellent. FOR CHILDREN.” Their aim is to safeguard the structural, process and outcome quality of inpatient care for children and adolescents and to guarantee high-quality, age-appropriate inpatient care for all children and adolescents — regardless of their place of residence or financial and social background.

“In our clinic, we enable parents to receive the best possible inpatient care for their sick child close to home. The awarded quality seal once again confirms this. Its publication at www.ausgezeichnet-fuer-kinder.de serves as an excellent guide when searching for a high-quality pediatric clinic,” explains Chief Physician Dr. med. Beate Schwarz.
