2005-2007  Clinical research projects and participation in single and multicentre trials in clinical and interventional cardiology during the fellowship period at the Heart Centre, Segeberger Kliniken, Bad Segeberg, Germany
2005 - 2008 Doctorate Thesis Joint research project between the Cardiology Department, Ain Shams University, Cairo, and the Heart Centre, Segeberger Kliniken, Bad Segeberg Thesis Title: “Relationship between cardiovascular risk as predicted by established risk scoring systems and coronary artery plaque composition as detected by intravascular ultrasound virtual histology analysis in native coronary arteries”

Clinical research projects and experience as investigator/principle investigator in several phase II, III and IV single and multicentre trials including AMG/MPG trials in the field of clinical & interventional cardiology. Focus of clinical research:
- Acute coronary syndrome
- Modern coronary stents
- Coronary calcification
- Interventional therapies for valvular heart disease
To date, more than 190 articles including more than 150 original investigations have been published from these projects.
